COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of the CompEx Foundation
course the student will demonstrate the
following
Basic understanding of the directives
Basic awareness of IEC 60079 series of
standards
Understanding of the need for additional
protection in EX areas
Understanding of EX signage and the
meaning of area classifications
Understanding of activities that are now
allowed in EX areas and on EX equipment.
This course provides basic training with certification for
personnel working on equipment for
use in potentially
explosive atmospheres.
The intention of the course is to support companies with a method to raise hazardous
area
awareness for their employees, and possibly to measure the suitability of a
candidate to work
towards competency assessment CompEx 01-04. For this reason,
assessment of the knowledge
delivered in the course is an essential part of the
training.
